A brief overview of Rangemaster Cooking

Rangemaster Cooking here means range cookers: wide freestanding cookers with a large hob and, on most models, two or three ovens, in 90 cm, 100 cm and 110 cm widths. They suit households that cook in quantity or want one cooker as the centrepiece of the kitchen. Styles run from the traditional Classic and Classic Deluxe to the Elise, the commercial-looking Professional, Professional Deluxe and Professional+ lines, and the contemporary Nexus OC. Many come in a choice of colours, and some Professional models come in stainless steel. The same cookers are also listed under Rangemaster range cookers.

Fuel type is usually the first decision. Dual fuel models pair a gas hob with electric ovens, so you get a visible flame on top and even electric heat for baking. Several have a multi-ring wok burner, and some Professional+ models come with a griddle. All-gas models run on natural gas, and the Classic gas cookers add a warming zone. Induction models heat the pan directly, so they respond quickly and wipe clean easily, but they need induction-compatible pans and a suitable electrical supply. Some Elise and Professional+ FX models list i5 induction technology.

Oven layout matters too. With two or three cavities you can cook a roast and side dishes at different temperatures. The Classic FX 90 instead has one large 114-litre multifunction oven. On Classic Deluxe models the left oven has a catalytic lining that absorbs grease as you cook, and the right oven is enamel. Many listings include Rangemaster's Handyrack, which fixes to the oven door so the roasting tin slides out as the door opens. Others list Steadfast pan supports, which are designed to stop pans wobbling, the Catch-rite door fixture, and a Nite-Lite clock that dims at night, which helps in open-plan rooms.

To narrow it down, measure the space first, as that settles 90, 100 or 110 cm. Next, check which supply your kitchen has for gas, dual fuel or induction. Then choose the style line and finish that suit the room. You can find an extractor in Rangemaster cooker hoods or see all Rangemaster products.
