Rangemaster chimney cooker hoods are made to sit above a range cooker or a wide hob, and they come in 60, 90, 100 and 110cm widths. There are four styles. The Classic hood has a decorative rail, the chimney hood carries a front badge, the Flat hood has clean lines and no badge, and Whispera is a minimalist design that Rangemaster intends for quieter running in open-plan kitchens. The models with full specifications all have three fan speeds and a booster setting, and all of them can either vent air outside through ducting or recirculate it through filters. Ducting usually clears steam and smells more effectively. Recirculation is useful when there is no route to an outside wall. Airflow is where the styles differ most. The badged and Classic hoods move up to 240 m³/h in normal use and 480 m³/h on booster. The Flat hood reaches 610 m³/h in normal use and 710 m³/h on booster, which suits a large range cooker or frequent frying and searing. Most models listing an energy rating are rated B, and the 60cm hoods are rated C.
