A brief overview of Novy hobs
Novy hobs cover three ways of cooking: gas burners set into the worktop, induction hobs, and venting hobs that combine induction with a built-in extractor. That breadth suits cooks who want a real flame as well as those planning a kitchen without an overhead cooker hood.
The Novy gas hobs are modular Top units, with the burners integrated into the worktop for a clean look. Single-burner 30 cm modules sit alongside 60 cm and 90 cm hobs with three or four burners, so you can combine modules into your own layout or fit one larger hob. Most list cast iron pan supports, automatic ignition, a flame failure safety device that cuts the gas if the flame goes out, and LPG compatibility, which is useful for homes without mains gas.
The Novy electric hobs are all induction, in 65 cm and 80 cm widths with nine power levels. Comfort models offer three or four zones with touch or slider controls. The Power 80 cm hobs add two flexible zones and a bridging zone, which links zones together so a griddle or long fish pan heats evenly. The Novy venting hobs belong to the Novy Easy range, where the extractor is hidden within the induction hob and only a discreet grille shows. There are 80 cm versions for ducting outside or for recirculation, plus a 90 cm Prestige model listed as suitable for either, all with nine fan speeds and a booster. Ducting removes steam and smells from the house altogether; recirculation filters the air and returns it, which is simpler where there is no route outside.
To narrow the choice, start with fuel and ventilation. If you want induction without a hood, a venting hob saves fitting one. For gas, decide between building a layout from modules or fitting a single hob. For induction, consider whether flexible and bridging zones suit the pans you use.
