A freestanding American fridge freezer is a double-width appliance that stands on its own rather than inside kitchen units. It suits households that shop in bulk or need room for platters and large bottles. Before buying, measure the space and the doorways it must pass through, allow ventilation gaps and room for the doors to open fully, and check for a mains water supply if you want plumbed-in water and ice.

Neff makes its freestanding American designs in the N 70 series, with frost-free freezing so you never have to defrost by hand. Look for MultiAirFlow, which keeps temperatures even throughout the fridge, and VarioZone, which lets you take out freezer drawers and shelves to fit larger items. These appliances also appear under Neff American fridge freezers, and the wider brand line-up is under all Neff products.
