Elica angled hoods mount flat to the wall with a sloping front, so they leave more headroom over the hob than a traditional chimney hood and look clean and modern. The Elica range here covers the Ascent, Majestic, Rift and Bloom series. Widths are 60, 80, 85 and 90 cm, so you can match the hood to most hobs. The Rift reaches 690 m³/h and has an A++ energy rating, the highest on this page. For heavier cooking, the 85 cm Bloom and Bloom Lux go up to 750 m³/h. The Bloom Lux adds a second booster level and runs quieter in normal use. The 90 cm Ascent Urban has the most airflow at 757 m³/h, with a B energy rating in exchange for that extra power.
The Ascent No Drip and Majestic No Drip models use Elica's No Drip design. Heating elements inside warm the hood's metal surfaces, so steam is less likely to condense and drip back onto the hob. This helps most over induction hobs, which send a lot of steam straight up. The Ascent and Rift hoods can either be ducted to the outside or set to recirculate. Ducting usually clears steam and smells better. Recirculation uses filters instead, so it suits kitchens with no outside wall nearby.
To narrow the choice, start with a hood at least as wide as your hob. Then decide what matters most: running costs (Rift), protection from drips over induction (No Drip) or the most extraction for frequent frying (Bloom or Ascent Urban).
