A brief overview of Miro Wall Mounted Cooker Hoods

Miro wall mounted cooker hoods fix to the wall above the hob and are vented through a chimney. They suit kitchens where the hob sits against a wall rather than on an island. Here you'll find two designs: the Hamlet, a glass-fronted hood, and the Utopia, a wider black hood with built-in shelves.

The Hamlet comes in 600mm and 800mm widths, with a white glass or black glass finish in each size. A 600mm hood suits a standard 60cm hob. The 800mm version covers a wider hob or gives a little extra overhang to catch steam. The white glass tends to blend into a pale kitchen, while the black glass gives a stronger contrast against light tiles or splashbacks.

The Utopia is 900mm wide and has shelves for keeping oils, spices or utensils near the hob. It has three fan speeds and a booster. Airflow ranges from 287 m³/h up to 730 m³/h on boost, and noise runs from 48 dB at the lowest setting to 68 dB at full power. It carries an A energy rating and can either duct air outside or recirculate it through filters. Recirculation is useful when you can't run a duct to an outside wall.

To narrow your choice, start with your hob width. Then decide whether a glass finish or the open shelving of the Utopia suits your kitchen better.
