A guide to Miro Canopy Cooker Hoods

Miro canopy cooker hoods fit inside a wall cabinet, chimney breast or mantle above the hob, so the hood does its work while staying largely out of sight. The range covers four series: CAPO 2, STEALTH SLIM, GA FILO and ETHOS PRO CAPO. Widths run from 530mm for a standard hob up to 1150mm for a wide cooking area. Finishes are stainless steel or black.

CAPO 2 comes in 530mm and 700mm widths, in stainless steel or black. STEALTH SLIM comes in 540mm, 780mm and 940mm widths, in stainless steel or matt black. At just 258mm deep, it suits shallower cabinets and mantles. It has touch controls and three speeds plus a booster that reaches 742 m³/h. GA FILO is stainless steel in widths from 535mm to 1000mm. Its booster ranges from 571 m³/h on the smaller versions to 1015 m³/h on the most powerful, with energy ratings from B up to A++. One GA FILO model includes a remote control. For the widest hobs, ETHOS PRO CAPO measures 1150mm.

The booster gives a short burst of extra power for searing or stir-frying, but it is noisier: maximum boost noise ranges from 58 to 68 dB across the range. Also check how the hood will vent. Ducted extraction sends steam and smells outside and is the more effective option. Recirculation filters the air and returns it to the kitchen, which helps when there is no route to an outside wall, but the filters need replacing. Some GA FILO models work either way, while many others are listed for extraction only.

To narrow the choice, measure the inside width and depth of the cabinet or mantle first. That tells you which series and sizes will fit. Then decide between ducting and recirculation, and match the airflow to how hard you cook.
