Induction Hob

Induction cooking works thanks to the transfer of heat from the hob to the pan by electrical induction. The transfer of heat between the two is 85% efficient, compared to around 74% for gas, making it very energy (and therefore cost) efficient. Your cooking pans will therefore need to be made of a ferrous metal base for the heat transfer to happen. The easiest way to check this, is to see if a magnet sticks to the bottom of your pan.
