A freestanding microwave with grill sits on the worktop and doesn't need a housing unit. That suits kitchens without space for a built-in model, and rented homes. The microwave reheats and defrosts, and the grill browns and crisps. In combination mode the two work together, so food cooks through and browns on top. Before buying, measure your worktop space, leave room around the vents and check there is a socket nearby.

Miele's version uses a quartz grill designed for even browning. It adds automatic programmes and a keep-warm function, and the controls sit on the side for easy use. Its Contourline design comes in a Clean Steel finish. You can also find it under Miele freestanding microwaves, or browse all Miele products for matching appliances.
