Freezers
There is a choice of different freezer types available for you to consider. You can get freestanding freezers, built in freezers and also pick from a range of chest freezers.
One of the most beneficial features to look out for when purchasing a freezer is how effective it is at preventing ice from building up inside it. Look out for a frost free or low frost freezer to ease the burden of regular defrosting.
A frost free freezer will prevent any ice from building up inside your freezer thanks to the extra insulation it has. This can sometimes mean a lower amount of storage capacity though. A low frost freezer will still need regular defrosting, but not as frequently as a freezer without frost build up protection.
A freezer that does not have a build up of ice inside it will operate much more efficiently than one that does, thereby saving you money to keep your food frozen.
A chest freezer is a great way to store large items and will maximise the storage capacity available, since unlike a freezer it doesn’t have any drawers (some may have baskets though). However, they will need regular defrosting since manufacturers don’t make a frost free model.
Many freezers will have an alarm system to warn you if leave the door open and can also offer protection during a power cut to protect your food for a certain period of time.
At RDO we have a wide selection of fantastic freezers from leading suppliers such as Liebherr, Miele, AEG, Bosch, Zanussi, Siemens, Neff, Sub-Zero and Blomberg.
