A wall mounted cooker hood will as its name implies be fixed to the wall of your kitchen similar to a chimney hood.

As well as considering the look of the wall mounted hood you like, it is also good to check the performance in terms of the level of how powerful it is to extract air, measured in meters per hours (m3h) and also how loud in decibels (db) it is to operate at its maximum level.  
A wall mounted hood will usually feature lighting to help brighten up your cooking area.
