Induction Hobs

Induction Hobs have overtaken Ceramic Hobs to become the most popular form of electric hob cooking on the market today. RDO supply a huge range of Induction Hobs from the likes of AEG, Bosch, Miele, Siemens, Zanussi and many more.
Although they are slightly more expensive than Ceramic Hobs, Induction Hobs have a host of advantages that make them a worthwhile investment.
They are far more energy efficient, very quick to heat up, powerful but safe to touch and have lots of features such as flexible cooking zones, timers and child safety locks.
Induction Hobs heat up the pan using electromagnetism to create a magnetic field between the pan and the coil beneath the glass top. The electricity then passes through from the cooktop to the pan inducing an electric current which releases heat.
One very important thing to bear in mind when deciding to go Induction is that for it to work the pans you use MUST be made of a ferrous material. In other words they must be made of iron and you can check if your existing pans are iron by simply seeing if a magnet sticks to them.
At RDO we always have a large selection of Induction Hobs from different manufactures on display at our showroom in Reigate where you can see a live demonstation of a working hob if you wish. Our showroom at Salfords has a selection of mainly ex-display items on show (when available). You can check the current models on display by using the filters on our website or you can call us. Both locations are within easy reach of East or West Sussex, Surrey, Kent and the M25.
Pop in and have chat with one of our in-house experts if you need any help deciding which induction hob is best for you.
