Steam cooking is very much en-vogue at the moment, since it offers many benefits compared to conventional cooking methods.
For example, if you are cooking vegetables it has been calculated that steaming them will help to retain up to 50% more of the vitamins compared to conventional boiling. Steam cooking fish too will help the fish to retain their texture and flavour, while roasts will be juicy and succulent to taste when cooked.
You can also cook multiple foods at the same time in a steam oven, without the flavour of the different food types being transferred making it very energy efficient!
There are two main types of dedicated integrated appliance that enables you to use steam cooking at home. They are a standalone standard steam oven as well as a steam combination oven.
A steam combination oven utilises both conventional oven cooking along with steam to give you full flexibility over your cooking preference.
Since steam cooking has become more mainstream you will also find that many single electric ovens also feature steam assisted cooking.
The staff in our main RDO showroom in Reigate can help you find the right steam oven, with many on display for you to view. Our showroom at Salfords has a selection of mainly ex-display items on show (when available). You can check the current models on display by using the filters on our website or you can call us. Both locations are within easy reach of East or West Sussex, Surrey, Kent and the M25.
